UK Focus: The UK’s future in Europe

We’re resending our analysis of what the UK-EU reset means for the UK economy and, what it means for the UK’s future in Europe, ahead of today’s UK-EU summit in London. While the UK-EU reset will nudge the UK closer to Europe in some economic areas, it will reverse only a fraction of the barriers erected by Brexit. As a result, the EU reset won’t give the UK economy the big boost that the government craves.

This analysis is part of our series on the “Future of Europe”. (See here.) If you would like to discuss any of the issues contained in our analysis of the UK or European economies, please contact our economists, your account manager or email support@capitaleconomics.com.
